✂️Using the !clip command

The !clip command is a unique feature of KickBot that allows both viewers and streamers to create a clip, by simply typing !clip in the chat. Below details how to clip on Kick with ease.

Getting Started

For this process you will need a KickBot account. If you do not already have a KickBot account navigate to kickbot.app and sign up. For more information, follow this guide on getting started.

By default every clip created is of the past 30 seconds, and while Kick does have a clipping feature, the KickBot !clip command is preferred by streamers and viewers because it is quicker, easier, and more reliable. Additionally, the !clip command can be used to create clips that are up to 4 minutes long, versus the 1 minute limit on Kick. Here is a demo of the !clip command in action.

The !clip command is 100% cloud-based and requires no downloads, OBS plugins or browser extensions.

To start, navigate to the "Clip Command" page under "Chat Bot" in the left-hand navigation.

Clip Durations

The duration of the clip can be specified within the command itself by adding the number of seconds after the command, for example, !clip 120 would create a 2 minute clip.

It is worth remembering that !clip command durations are always specified in seconds.

Please note that it may take 1-2 minutes for the clip command to become available after enabling it on your KickBot account.

Default Settings

By default the !clip command is enabled and available for everyone to use. It is worth noting that while permissions can be set for various different types of people (Mod, Sub, VIP), the streamer will always be able to clip.

Premium Settings

Premium users have access to extra clip customization settings.

These settings are:

  • Custom response: Allows you to specify the @{user} & {clip_url} variables.

  • Default clip length: Set the default clip length when no duration is specified in the command.

  • Maximum clip length: Set the maximum duration for clips up to 240 seconds. The default is 120 seconds.

Using the Command

The next time you go live, both you and your viewers will have access to the !clip command. Please note that it may take 1-2 minutes for the command to become available after going live or after enabling it.

Viewing Clips

Once a clip is generated, you have the option to download it or directly share it on Twitter. To ensure smooth operation, make sure KickBot is added as a moderator on your channel. When you use the !clip command, KickBot will promptly respond with a link to the clip.
